Pat O’Donoghue, FAOI
When Pat O’Donoghue took over the family practice in 1973, he set about building a business that would become an integral part of the local community. Since then he has gained respect in the optical community as one of the leading optometrists in the country. A graduate of DIT, Pat continues to invest in his education as well as the business, which he extensively expanded and updated in 2007 with the relocation to Scott’s Street.
Joanne Ní Churráin
Joanne joined Urban Optics as a student after graduating from DIT and has been on the team ever since. Frequently known as Pat’s ‘other daughter,’ Joanne’s warmth and professionalism make her a favourite with all the customers.
Following her graduation from DIT in 2009, Elaine honed her skills in several practices before spending a year abroad lecturing in the School of Optometry in Malawi. She has also spent time in Mozambique, providing free vision screenings to the local children. Elaine began working in the family practice in January 2013 and is currently pursuing a Masters in Clinical Optometry, allowing her to specialize in the treatment of glaucoma, macular degeneration and diabetes.
Sheila O’Sullivan – Practice Manager
